Like its cousin π (pi), phi (approximately 1.62) has an infinite number of decimal places. It is a number that appears all around us. In the number of petals of a flower, in the proportions of countless animal bodies (including us humans), in seashells, hurricanes and a tremendous amount of art. It has even been suggested that phi functions like a secret formula, explaining why we consider certain things to be beautiful. These sculptures are a small homage to this golden ratio.
