This ‘character cube’ is part of a project called karakters, from 1998. The characters are part of a series of 4096 variations on a square. The cube combines 6 of these 2-dimensional characters into a 3D work that can be exhibited in 24 different ways.

In the same way juggling patterns sometimes seem to carry a certain feeling, these characters form letters without a literal meaning. A code without a key.
